| MIER College Celebrated World’s AIDS Day | | | Early Times Report Jammu , Nov 2 MIER College of Education celebrated World’s AIDS Day by organizing a number of informative activities. The day is observed as an alarm against AIDS which has killed more than 25 million people between 1981 and 2007 throughout the world. Understanding the importance of the day, about 200 volunteers from NSS took part in various activities organized in and outside of the college premises to spread awareness in the fight against AIDS
Among the activities in the college, a quiz was organized on the theme ‘AIDS- Causes & Prevention’ for the students of B. Ed, B. Ed Special (MR) and PGDCA. The competition was witnessed by Dr. Renu Gupta, Principal, Dr. Adit Gupta, Vice Principal, All the faculty members and students of the college.
To educate the public about prevention and treatment for the HIV-positive, students from the college also took part in the activities organized by Govt. College for Women Gandhi Nagar and University of Jammu.
Dr Renu Gupta appreciated the winners and the participants in various activities and asked the students to generate more awareness about AIDS and encouraged them to take action to prevent its spread and further improve and develop the support and care initiatives for infected persons.
