Early Times Report Rajouri, Dec 2 Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages today launched a talent hunt at Rajouri and held a five day contest, which began today and would continue till December 06. About 1,000 school boys, girls and budding artists from across Rajouri took part many NGO’s also participated in the five day programme. Senior BJP leader, Kuldip Raj Gupta, former MLC, Choudhary Gulzar, commandant BSF, DC Choudhary and Principal Degree College Budhal, Prof. SP Chopra. Shahbaz Rajourvi, Talib Malik, AK Badyal and noted educationist, MB Magray attended the occasion as special invitee. The event began with Bhangra performance by Joginder Singh and party of Higher Secondary School Noniyal. During the five day contest the youth of the district would be adjudged in different fields like dance, singing, mimicry, calligraphy, sculpting and painting by a team of experts comprising noted musician Krishan Langoo, OSD Culture, OP Sharma and Special Officer Culture, Shamima Akhtar. ‘To encourage the students as many as 80 awards, carrying cash prizes of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 each, will be given, official spokesperson said. Secretary Academy, Zaffar Iqbal Manhas highlighted the policies of the Academy and said that the contest would be held across the state so that genuine talent could be explored and promoted.
