The Bill was introduced in the Assembly March last by State Government.. Eshfaq-ur Rehman Poswal, State President of Akhil Bhartiya Gujjar Maha Sabha said this here today while addressing a public meeting which was attended by representatives of all reserved and marginalized communities. “We have decided to oppose the Bill at all levels” said Eshfaq adding that “it is against the basic and constitutional rights of reserved categories residing in Jammu and Kashmir. He said a joint co-ordination committee of SC, ST and OBC communities will be constituted shortly to mobilize public opinion against this Anti-Reservation Bill. Poswal said the coalition government is bent upon to issue an SRO in this regard. He said we will meet Governor to oppose this move as the Propose Act is most controversial one and against basic and fundamental rights of Scheduled communities. In an appeal to SC, ST and OBC communities Ch Poswal said that this is a high time for us to unite under one banner against “Anti-reservation forces”. He said this bill will sabotage the constitutional guarantees available to reserve categories and will divide the State in 22 parts. We will fight till last against this bill, Poswal said. He also cautioned the SC, ST and OBC community to be ready to move towards the court of law if government issues any SRO about banning enter district recruitment. He said this proposed law was drafted by the government to give benefit to a particular group and a region and we will offer all sacrifices to oppose this.
