| Rajneesh’s custodial death part of state terrorism: Chrungoo | | PK joins hands with Mahila Sanrakshan Samiti, planning to meet CM on Dec 4 | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 2- Describing the custodial death of Rajneesh Sharma as a serious crime Panun Kashmir President Ashwani Kumar Chungroo has said that all human rights bodies must take cognizance of the same. He expressed surprise as to why the state human rights commission has not taken sou moto cognizance of the matter ‘The custodial death is a case of denial of human rights and needs to be dealt with accordingly, Chrungoo, added. National Spokesman Virender Raina said that Panun Kashmir would take up this matter at all the appropriate forums and would not rest till the culprits are brought to justice and adequate compensation paid to the family of the deceased. The PK leaders said this when the members of Daughters of Panun Kashmir held a meeting with the delegation of Mahila Sanrakshan Samiti led by Pankaja here today. The meeting held under the chairmanship of Moheni Raina, Chairperson DOPK was among others attended by Shilpi Verma, Usha Chaudhary, Priya Sethi, Sangeeta Gupta, Vimla Chrungoo, Sneh Ganhar, Sarojini Kuchroo, Raj Dulari Raina and Durga Bhat. Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, Panun Kashmir, Virender Raina, National Spokesperson and PK and Pradiman Kaul were also present in the meeting. Earlier, Pankaja gave an account of the heinous custodial death of Rajneesh Sharma at the hands of Kashmir Police and also apprised about the recent signature campaign launched by the Mahila Sanrakshan Samiti to give justice to Anchal Sharma, wife of the deceased. The participants at the meeting felt that it was a clear case of state terrorism for which the civil society must rise and protest. The Samiti has planned to meet the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah in this regard on December 4, 2009. The Samiti has appealed to the people and especially the lady members to assemble at Raghunath Chowk, Jammu on this date at 10.30 AM. Moheni Raina, Chairperson, DOPK assured the delegation of full the support of Daughters of Panun Kashmir in its fight against injustice committed against Rajneesh Sharma.The members of DOPK have all sympathies with the family and particularly with the wife of the deceased. It would be ensured that the just cause of the family is pursued at all levels.
