BJP condemns lathi charge on SPOs, demands high level inquiry
12/3/2009 12:15:33 AM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 2- Strongly condemning the Police lathi charge on SPOs who were called for interview for recruitment in Central Paramilitary forces at the CRPF Group centre Bantalab here today, Member National Executive and former BJP state president Dr. Nirmal Ningh and State General Secretary Bali Bhagat have demanded a high level inquiry and stringent action against those responsible for lathi charge as a result of which several SPO’s got injured. They pleaded that there should be a uniform policy and procedure for recruitment for SPO’s in the central Para military forces for the SPO’s belonging to Kashmir and Jammu regions. SPO’s who have done a commendable task in fighting terrorism for the past so many years, deserve to be awarded for their bravery and not lathi charged publically, as has been done today. They also said that it is unfortunate that the SPO’s were called from the far- flung and militancy infested areas of Doda district for recruitment, but they had to face police lathi’s instead of jobs in Para military forces.
