| 25th anniversary of Bhopal Gas tragedy observed | | | Early Times Report Kathua , Dec 3 To mark the 25th anniversary of Bhopal Gas tragedy International campaign for justice in Bhopal Kathua group organized a function to pay rich tributes to the victims of the tragedy. In the function organized at Government Degree College for women, Kathua senior superintendent of police, Kathua, Garib Dass was the chief guest. Students from various institutions shared their views on the Bhopal Gas tragedy. Resource persons Prof. Sumnesh singh Jasrotia, Advocate Sushil Gupta, Lecturer Aruna Sharma, K.D Sambyal shared their views on the gas tragedy and considered it as the injustice to the victims of the tragedy. They showed their deep concern over the issue and gave wider information to the listeners. They said Hundreds of people were died off from the effects of toxic gases which leaked from a chemical factory near the central Indian city of Bhopal. The accident happened in the early hours of December 3rd at the American-owned Union Carbide Pesticide Plant three miles (4.8 km) from Bhopal. Victims are still waiting for the relief. Journalist Harjinder Singh acted as bridge between dignitaries and audiences. In this function member of International campaign for social justice paid symbolic tribute to the victims and recalled the incident of 1984 Bhopal Gas tragedy. They observed two minutes silence. Speaking on the occasion SSP, Garib Dass appreciated the efforts of group members who aware the younger generation for the tragic scene happened 25 years ago in our country. Human Right Activist Mr. Sunil Monu welcomed the dignitaries where Mr.Manuj kesar paid vote of thanks. Gen Sec. Arun Trisal (SOIL), MMB Updesh Andotra, President MMB Sushma Avtar, Kusum Salaria, Pawan Vivek, Varinder Kour, Suresh Kumar, Shashi Sharma, Prof. Joginder Singh, staff members of Women College, members of different social organizations were also participated in the function.
