| Tiwari inks SFRI’s green pact with SMVDU | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 3- A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between State Forest Research Institute (SFRI) J&K Government and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University, Katra today. The MoU will focus on enforcement for three years in the first instance and extendable with mutual agreement. Prof. NK Bansal, VC and Dr. R.D. Tiwari Director SFRI signed the MoU in presence of Dean of Engineering Prof. M.L.Garg, Dean of Sciences Prof. V Verma, Dean of Humanities and Social Science Prof. R.S.Misra, Dean of Students Prof. S.Chandra, Registrar Roop Avtar Kour and faculty of School of Biotechnology, SMVDU. SMVDU and SFRI will cooperate in mutual field of Research and Development, Education Training and dissemination of technology and knowledge of long term basis. Senior Faculty of Biotechnology of SMVDU will help SFRI in developing Research facilities in SFRI. SFRI will setup demonstration plots in Varsity for which the latter will provide area in its campus. The two institutes will develop Joint venture Research project for funding for Government of India. SFRI undertake large scale afforestation and reforestation program in the varsity. “Srinagar recommendation on climate change and glacial retreat plan – Regionally and locally” shall be persuaded jointly and program shall be developed to address the climate change mitigation measure effectively. Roop Avtar Kour Registrar SMVD University has been nominated as nodal officer from the University for Meaningful Reflective Implementation of the MOU with SFRI.
