| Distribution of 3 months free rations to drought hit a welcome step: DCC | | | Early Times Report Udhampur, Dec 4- Udhampur Unit of Congress party has passed a resolution welcoming the proposed government move of sanctioning three months’ free ration to the drought hit farmers. The party, at a meeting of its district and block level heads jointly chaired by Bhupinder Singh Pathania, President DCC Udhampur and Brij Mohan Sharma, has expressed dissatisfaction over the manner of re- surveying of BPL lists and demanded that tentative lists should be displayed for objections outside Panchayat Ghars, schools and other government buildings in the villages so that undeserving people do not creep into the said survey. The party called upon the centre and state governments to take immediate effective steps in order to put curb on the sky-rocketing prices of essential commodities. The unprecedented price-hike has sent the economies of the common man and particularly, the farmer and labourer community into a tailspin. Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion included Taro Devi, Mahila district president, Rakesh Chander, District Youth President, Sachin Sharma District NSUI President, Prem Nath Drahi, District SC/ST Cell President and Sher Singh, District President, Migrant cell.
