| Warm farewell accorded to VC SMVDU | | | Early Times Report
Katra, Dec 4- Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University today accorded a touching farewell to the outgoing Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. N.K Bansal in the central courtyard of SMVDU campus.
Prof. Bansal took over as the second Vice Chancellor of SMVDU in November 2004 when the University was still in its infancy. The University had just two buildings which have multiplied now to a dozen, faculty strength has gone to 100 against three at that time while the students strength which was just 43 has gone up to 1,350 at present. The University progressed in academics as well in infrastructure during the tenure of Prof. Bansal.
Prof. M.L Garg, Prof. R.S Misra, Prof. V.Verma and Prof. Suresh Chandra spoke on the occasion and conveyed their best wishes to the outgoing Vice Chancellor. Registrar, Roop Avtar Kaur presented a memento to Mrs. Bansal and wished them a happy and prosperous time in future. Dr. Vandhana Sharma, Director School of Languages conducted the proceedings and presented a brief report on the contributions of Prof. Bansal.
