NCC Passing out Parade at Gwalior

Jammu, Dec 5-Amidst historic and impressive surroundings of the National Cadet Corps, Officers Training Academy, Gwalior (MP), 100 Associate NCC Officers, who are the interface between military establishment and NCC cadets from different schools and colleges from all over the country along with 24 Girls Cadet Instructors, wore their ranks after an impressive Passing out Parade. The 124 Trainees successfully completed a three month long condensed course wherein various aspects of basic military training including map reading, tactics, civil defence, weapon training, NCC organization and administration, communication and leadership and motivational skills were imparted. The training aimed at equipping them with skills to groom NCC Cadets into responsible citizens of our nation and to serve the nation when called upon to do so. Officer’s Training Academy, Gwalior is only institution in India to train whole time lady officers, Associate NCC officers and girl cadet instructors.
Rear Admiral Anand S Iyer, reviewed the parade on this auspicious occasion. A large number of NCC Cadets and relatives of trainees witnessed the parade. Smartly turned out in their ceremonial attire, the Reviewing Officer congratulated trainees on earning their commission and urged them to work tirelessly with dedication, entrusting them with the enormous responsibility of grooming tomorrow’s leaders. NCC is the largest uniformed youth force in the world with a total strength of 13 lakh cadets. The parade was commanded by GCI Lakyntiew Kharkamni from Meghalaya. The Director General’s Plaque of Honour for standing first in order of merit for various categories was awarded to Lt (Dr) Anjita Singh, Third Officer Virgin Lolita Fernando and GCI Sheela
