| Secessionists fishing in troubled waters: Gupta | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 5- Asserting that most of the problems in Jammu and Kashmir are the direct result of the anti-India designs of theoretic Pakistan, BJP leader and former Union Minister Prof Chaman Lal Gupta has said that the secessionists and semi-secessionists of Kashmir are trying to fish in the troubled waters as the Congress leadership has no Kashmir policy to frustrate the enemy’s designs. He was speaking at a meeting of Janipura Mandal activists held at Patoli Magotorian in here today. The meetings of the party activists are being held to prepare the people, particularly the activists to meet the challenges ahead because of the controversial postures of the Congress led UPA Government at the Centre under slogans of “quiet diplomacy” with the secessionists and the leaders of the elements raising the slogans of Autonomy and Self Rule to reverse the integration process. Prof Gupta said that Defence Minister and many others are narrating that the infiltration bids are on the increase and there is no let up in evil designs of the mentors of cross border terror in addition to presence of hundreds of trained ultras active in the State, but on the contrary the Home Minister and some others are talking about withdrawal of considerable number of troops as also the lowering of the guards by amending the laws to curtail the powers of forces fighting out the menace of armed militancy. He said that the events of the history are witness to the situation that power crazy leadership of the Congress not only became a party in cheating the countrymen by accepting the communal division of India in 1947, but also committed plethora of follies in this part leading to very sad situation, which is known as Kashmir problem. The BJP leader alleged that separate status of Jammu and Kashmir under communal considerations was the result of the policies of appeasement of the National Conference as also other semi-secessionists and secessionists, who in fact are the children of the Congress itself. Along with the Congress, these elements always tried to subjugate the people of Jammu as also forced the migration of nationalists from the Valley of Kashmir. These migrants not only include Hindus and Sikhs but also large number of Muslims families too, who have been settled in the outskirts of Jammu but with a design, he added. Prof. Gupta assailed the leaders of the National Conference and some others that they get Islamic in the troubled Valley, become secular in Jammu and talk of nationalism at New Delhi or elsewhere in the country but their whole approach had always been dubious. Regretting that instead of sorting out the basic problems facing the people, he said New Delhi leaders are opting the postures, which are bound to lead to encouragement to elements who during all these years had been trying to blackmail the Centre by encouraging fundamentalist. Many problems like that of unemployment, soaring prices, growing unrest amongst youth because of unemployment and misleading promises of the Congress-National Conference coalition leaders were also raised in the meeting. The meeting was also attended by the Pradesh General Secretary, Shamsher Singh Manhas, Mayor Kavinder Gupta, Pradesh Treasurer Sat Sharma, City President Rajesh Gupta and Pruduman.
