| MF condemns attack on Qureshi | | Such acts reflect desperation of vested interests: Majid | |

Jammu, Dec 5: The executive body of Muslim federation in a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Abdul Majid unanimously condemned the attack on a prominent Huriyat leader Fazil Haq Qureshi and termed it as a cowardly act to deter Huriyat to enter into a dialogue process for finding a peaceful and everlasting solution of Jammu and Kashmir problem. Majid said such acts reflect the desperations of some vested interests who are all out to keep the Jammu and Kashmir in disturbed situation with a view to achieve their nefarious designs.
The speakers expressed their deep sympathies with the family of Quarashi and prayed for his early recovery. In significant members of federation has appealed to both the factions of APHC to forge a unity with a view to find out a peaceful and everlasting solution of the problem which has a potential of disturbing peace in the sub continent. He said the non resolution of the issue has adversely affected the minorities in the state who are living in constant fear.
The meeting was attended by HA Siddiqui, Qazi Talat Niyaz, Jamait Ali, Bahar Din, Mohd Akram, Parvez Ahmed, Nisar and Ahmed Mir.
Meanwhile, the members of J&K social peace forum in a meeting chaired by Devinder Singh Behal have strongly condemned attack on Qureshi. Members express full sympathy with the family of Qureshi and prayed to Almighty for his speedy recovery. Sheikh Sajjad also condemns attack on Qureshi.
