| Contradictory stand on Guru baffles people: Hari Om | | | JAMMU OCT-06- Commenting on the contradictory stands adopted by the CM and his party colleague on the issue of Afzal Guru accused in the Parliament attack case, State BJP Vice President and spokesman Prof Hari Om has emphasized the need for stopping playing the politics of opportunism. ‘It is ridiculous that while the Chief Minister is pleading for mercy for Afzal Guru on the ground that his execution would send a wrong signal across the Valley, his Party colleague and Health Minister Mangat Ram Sharma demands his execution’ the spokesman said and added their contradictory stands on the rule of law on Guru have only baffled the people both at the State and at the national level. ‘This is not a positive development and the CM and his colleague in the cabinet simply cannot afford to tread different paths,’ Hari Om observed. He said people of Jammu province as well as the entire nation are keenly watching the activities not only of the Chief Minister and his colleague but also feeling disturbed over the coalition between the mainstream Congress and PDP, the votary of self-rule and demilitarization.
