| Ranjeesh killing case | | Women body asks CM to act in three days | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 5 : The Mahila Sarakshan Samiti (MSS) today served a three-day ultimatum to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to take action against police officials behind the death of Rajneesh Sharma, who was allegedly killed in police custody at Srinagar on October 5. ''We have served three-day ultimatum to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to thoroughly probe into the matter for punishing the culprits,'' Priya Sethi, one of the MSS members told reporters at a press conference here this afternoon. Sethi said that in case no directions would be issued by the Chief Minister, the matter would be brought to the notice of the Governor N N Vohra followed by a march towards New Delhi to meet the President Pratibha Patil, if the government maintains silence over the issue. ''The MSS will not let up the struggle unless police officials responsible for kidnapping and custodial killing of Rajneesh Sharma are not punished,'' the women leader alleged. The protests would be intensified and triggered into other districts of the state, if the government, fails to provide justice to Aanchal Sharma, widow of Rajneesh Sharma, Ms Priya added. It is to be stated that Srinagar-based Ameena alias Aanchal married Rajneesh against the wishes of her parents on July 21 this year in Jammu after adopting Hinduism.
