Tara Chand, Bhalla inaugurate Painting Exhibition ‘The Journey’
Pays rich tributes to Ram Sahai

JAMMU, DECEMBER 06-Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. Tara Chand and Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Mr. Raman Bhalla on Sunday inaugurated a 7-day solo exhibition of paintings organised by renowned artist Mr. K. K. Gandhi in memory of Late Shri Ram Sahai, former CCI President at Kala Kendra.

Director General of Police, Mr. Kuldeep Khoda, Public Service Commission Member Mr. K. B. Jandial, Vice Chairman Jammu Development Aauthority Mr. G. A. Qureshi, President Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mr. Y V Sharma, industrialists and political leaders of different parties and family members of Ram Sahai were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Tara Chand appreciated the efforts of Mr. Gandhi, an eminent artist of our State for organising a paining exhibition in memory of one of the eminent Jammuite Late Ram Sahai. He said that art can reach the deepest recesses of human heart where words have no influence. He said that Sahai sahib was a simple person who would cherish the joys of life and share the sorrows of others, adding that it is difficult to believe that Mr. Sahai is no more. “Nobody would leave his premises unsatisfied and nobody would ever return from him with his expectations belied”. He was popular equally with bureaucrats, with politicians, with colleagues and with the city gentry, he added.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Bhalla paid rich tributes to Late Ram Sahai, who was a leading businessman, a nice and kind hearted person. He said that Sahai was a great visionary, who always watched the interest of Jammu by remaining in the forefront in every cause of Jammuties. He said that Ram Sahai was a multi-faceted personality. His contribution to the civil society and the industry has been valuable. He said that he always championed the cause of industry at every forum and created a unique place for himself in the hearts and minds of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Minister said that Mr. Gandhi has been a self taught artist and has produced very fine paintings, which have been acknowledged for their great merit and artistic value. He is one of the pillars of the art and culture scenario of Jammu and his works adorn some of the most prominent heritage buildings and homes of the State.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Khoda said that The Journey-Solo exhibition of paintings created by Mr. Gandhi speaks volume about his journey towards in World of Art. His exhibition in commemorations of Late Sahai acknowledge his love for art, nature and service to the humanity.

“Through this exhibition dedicated to Mr. Sahai, we all wish for eternal peace and rest to the departed soul and perseverance to his family and well wishers to bear the irreparable loss, said Khoda.
