Nationalists being tortured, separatists given red carpet welcome : BJP
12/6/2009 10:22:57 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 6- Strongly condemning the brutal police lathi charge on SPOs demanding regularization, State BJP President Ashok Khajuria, leader of the legislators party Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta and National executive member Dr. Nirmal Singh said that an unfortunate situation is prevailing in our state, where those engaged in protecting the lives and property of the masses and strengthening the nationalist forces are tortured, and those advocating separatist ideology are given red carpet welcome. Both, the Centre as well as the state government is compromising the national interests in the name of “Quiet Diplomacy’ and moving towards granting concessions under the garb of “Peace Process”, they added. They warned the UPA and the State’s coalition not to take any such decision which is against India’s sovereignty over Jammu and Kashmir and, instead, it should work towards strengthening all such forces which stand for unity and integrity of the state and favours its full integration with rest of the country.
They said these SPOs are already in service and in most of the parts of the state, particularly in militancy-infested areas they have been rendering splendid services and even sacrificing their lives. It is due to their valuable services that the people living in far flung and hilly areas feel safer and a sense of security has developed in them due to the presence of these SPOs. Instead of regularizing their services, giving them inhuman treatment is really a shameful act, they regretted.
