| Court grants interim bail to SSP, facing trail in murder case | | | Jammu, October, 06- Principal Sessions Judge Jammu Mr. Subhash Chander Gupta today granted 10 days interim bail SSP Karnail Singh, who is facing trail along with other accused in much publicized murder case of Nitin Sharma, a matador driver on medical grounds with the direction that accused be released on furnishing surety and personal bond to the tune of Rs 1 lakh each with undertaking that he will not try to temper with the prosecution evidence in any manner. The Judge, after hearing Public Prosecutor appearing for the State and Advocate Sunil Sethi and Advocate Vishal Kapur appearing for the petitioner Karnail Singh, observed that in the bail application it has been submitted that the accused is suffering from disc bulge at L3, L4 and O disc protrusion with C migration at L4, L5 level with disc desiccation at L4, L5 resulting in deterioration of his health. During the pendency of this bail application, an application was moved by the Advocate Vishal Kapur of the accused Karnail Singh to get him medically checked at Acharya Shri Chander College of Medical Sciences & Hospital, Sidhra in Jammu. Upon this the Judge had issued directions to the SP District Jail Jammu to get accused Karnail Singh medically examined at his own expenses. Superintendent District Jail Jammu has submitted the doctors’ report recommending surgical decompression. Court further said that advocate for the accused prayed for his interim bail for medical check-up as the accused has to undergo surgical operation and before operation consultation is required at Delhi. Looking to the prayer and the reports of the doctors, accused Karnail Singh suffering from disc bulge and ordered to be released on interim bail for a period of 10 days to under go medical check-up at Delhi for his surgery and inform this Court about the date on which he is to be operated within 10 days. With these observations Court granted 10 days interim bail to the accused SSP Karnail Singh. JNF
