| CB presents Challan in GP Fund scam | | | Jammu, October, 06- Crime Branch Jammu today presented Challan against accused Tarsem Raj, the then cashier in the office of Assistant Director Handlooms Kathua, allegedly involved in GP fund Scam, in the Court of Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu. Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Mr. JR Kotwal directed the accused to furnish the bail bond and personal bond to the tune of Rs 10,000/-each failing which, he will be sent to judicial lock-up. The accused after the direction of the Court furnished the bail and surety bonds, According to the Challan, the then Director Handlooms Development Department Shamma Jain IFS had filed complaint in the year 2003 in which it had been alleged that the accused along with concerned Assistant Director namely Mohan Singh Sethi, who is presently absconding had committed the crime .e Mohd Din a retired class IV of the District Office, had applied for payment of GP fund and was told that the payment has been made to him, as per the office record while in fact no payment was made to him. The Crime Branch on the receipt of the complaint registered a case u/s 409/420 RPC r/w section 5(2) PC Act 2000 and after completion of the investigation presented Challan against accused in the Court of law. Court after hearing CPO appearing for the Crime Branch directed to lead the evidence on the next date of hearing. JNF
