| JU administration giving patronage to all the corrupt and inefficient people: NSF | | | Early Times Report Jammu , Dec 7 “University has totally failed to check the activities of outsiders in the campus and even the culprits of infamous shoot-out in JU Administrative Block have not been booked while, the innocent students of the University were unnecessarily being dragged and harassed on the pretext of enquiry committees stated NSF President Vikas Sharma . Earlier on the call of National Secular Forum (NSF), an organization working for the cause of youth, a complete strike was observed in all the teaching departments of University of Jammu (JU) in protest against the alleged authoritative and anti-students attitude of the University administrators. A large number of students and scholars of University besides, activists of NSF took out a protest rally in the University campus under the leadership of President Vikas Sharma. As a mark of protest, the students wore black badges and raised slogans against the University administration. The impact of strike was also seen in the Central Library (Dhanwantri Library), as the NSF activists asked urged the students to move out of the reading rooms to support the cause. Addressing a gathering of students outside Central Library, Vikas Sharma flayed the Vice Chancellor, Prof Varun Sahni for ignoring the issues and demands of the students. He mentioned that Examination Wing of the University was most inefficient and causing trouble to the entire student community. He criticized the Vice Chancellor for hushing up the marks tampering and B.Ed examination mass copying case and said, “JU administration is deliberately giving patronage to all the corrupt and inefficient people which has degraded the standards of the University.” Also, he warned the JU authorities to mend their ways and act in a student friendly otherwise; the NSF will continue to raise the voice of students.
