| JSM fears Center making attempts on dividing Jammu on communal lines | | | Early Times Report Jammu Dec 7: A meeting of Jammu State Morcha (P) was held today under the chairmanship of its President, Prof. Virender Gupta to discuss the issue of finding the solution of Jammu & Kashmir issue through the proposed quiet talks and expressed their apprehensions of dividing Jammu region on communal lines. During the meeting the member of Jammu State Morcha (P) opposed any move to divide Jammu region on the communal lines and segregating its Muslim dominating areas. ‘Such an action shall be against the secular traditions and ethos of the people of the region and shall amount to recognizing religion as the basis of culture and nationality and reviving the concept of Two Nation Theory, they said. JSM (P) warned if the proposal of dividing Jammu region is given effect it may lead to another volcano of communal violence and blacken the face of humanity and the cherished traditions of brotherhood, affection and love of Duggar Pradesh. They also call upon the people of Jammu region to oppose and reject any such move by one voice and with all the might at their command and ask the Government of India to evolve a political system and re-organize Jammu & Kashmir State. Members criticized the off and on statements of the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah and his father, Dr Farooq Abdullah asking for tripartite talks between India, Pakistan and Kashmiri leaders including separatists to resolve the Jammu & Kashmir issue and advises them to refrain from issuing such statements as they are occupying responsible positions and should not interfere in the foreign, home and defence matters of the country. The meeting was attended by H. B Khajuria Capt. Anil Gour, Digvijay Singh, Chandra Uday Sharma, Devinder Singh, Balvinder Singh, Surjit Singh among others.
