12/7/2009 10:57:12 PM

Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 7: Jammu and Kashmir National Panther's Party (JKNPP) today has described the recently announced Employment Policy by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah as 'eyewash' and mockery to unemployed youths.
''The policy not at all going to benefit youths of the state as it is merely an ‘eyewash’ said JKNPP MLA Harsh Dev Singh who was accompanied with MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia and MLA Yashpal Kudal during a press conference.
Harsh alleged that it is a deception and fraud played by the Government on the unemployed youth of the State.
''The coalition government, which had made loud exhortations and tall pronouncements of ‘one job for each family’, has belied the hopes and expectations of the unemployed in the name of revamped Employment Policy and taken the educated aspiring youth for a ride,'' added the JKNPP MLA.
He further said the exaggerated dissonance and the inflated claims of the government of one-lakh government jobs in five years and provision of Voluntary Services Allowance (VSA) to the youth were hollow and illusionary slogans but is aimed at publicity and to gain vote bank.
He added that around 20,000 posts become available every year in normal course due
to retirement and as well as new creations, so filling up of one-lakh vacancies in five years period is a routine practice for which the present dispensation can hardly claim any credit.
He also sought explanation from present regime saying that it rather needs to explain as to what happened to 70,000 posts, which the erstwhile Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad had announced in July 2008 to have filled up in case he had three more months to stay in office.
Referring to the much hyped employment scheme the JKNPP MLAs collectively said, “The scheme is not only full of contradictions, flaws and illegalities but also full of ambiguities and reveals the confused state of mind of the policy makers.
