| SC to hear pre-paid mobile case on Dec 15 | | | Early Times Report Jammu Dec 7: Division Bench headed by the Chief Justice of India, Justice K.G. Balakrishnan and comprising JJ Ashok Kumar Ganguly and B.S. Chauhan today ordered listing of pre-paid mobile phone case on December 15, 2009 filed by J&K National Panthers Party. According to press statement issued from New Delhi, it was stated that Prof. Bhim Singh, a senior jurist mentioned before the Division Bench that the registry of the Supreme Court dared defying the direction of the Chief Justice who had directed to list the case on 30th November, 2009. Prof. Bhim Singh further submitted that, "The Chief Justice may take appropriate action in this regard. This is a case which concerns the civil and fundamental rights of nearly four million citizens of India residing in J&K." Prof. Singh argued that the writ petition has been filed by the Panthers Party for the civil rights of 38 Lakh pre-paid mobile phone subscribers and that shall become in fructuous by January 1, 2010 and following this appeal the Chief Justice finally agreed to fix December 15, 2009 to hear the petition, the statement said.
