Two days after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah unveiled the keenly awaited employment policy, none of the principal opposition parties –the Peoples Democratic Party and the Bhartiya Janta Party –have officially reacted to the policy –neither negatively nor positively. Panthers Party has been the only party which today formally reacted to the employment policy and declared it a dud. Despite this minor criticism what brought NC leaders in such a defencive mode could not be understood immediately even though sources suggested that the ruling party was not getting any impressive feedback from the ground.
Interaction with the leaders of various opposition parties revealed that they were not prepared to officially react to the employment policy in any manner, whether positively or negatively for all the intelligent reasons. Observers believed okaying government’s policies is always out of purview of the opposition parties while criticizing the present job policy could have earned them displeasure of the youths.
