| 27488 books adorn Assembly Library | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, DEC 8: Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Mr. Mohammad Akbar Lone has said 27,488 reference books are available in Legislative Assembly library, adding that computerized cataloguing of the books will be undertaken shortly. Lone was addressing a meeting of Library Committee of Legislative Assembly today. The Committee discussed threadbare measures to make reference books available in regional languages, besides the services being provided by the Assembly library. The Committee was informed that there is shortage of space in Jammu for storage of reference books and decided that the matter would be taken up with the Chief Minister for construction of library block. Secretary, Legislative Assembly, Mr. M. Ramzan briefed the meeting about the problems being faced by the Assembly Secretariat for the stocking library books. Legislators, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta, Mr. Aijaz Ahmad Jan, Prof. Gharu Ram Bhagat, Mr. Lal Chand and Mr. Charanjit Singh and other senior officers of Assembly Secretariat attended the meeting.
