Addressing media persons, Sher Singh, President, said that KDCC filed objection against the land acquisition. As the bus stand is being constructed in violation of Master Plan and on orchard land to give benefit to land grabbers”, Singh said. “The notification for construction of bus stand was issued on the directions of Deputy Chief Minister despite the fact that in District Development Board meeting of Reasi, the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had agreed to review the Master Plan before taking any step vis-a-vis construction of new bus stand”, he added. He mentioned that in Master plan 850 kanals of land was earmarked for bus stand but now the same land has shrunk to only 422 kanals due to uncontrolled expansion of the town. The president further said that Govt failed to provide basic amenities to Katra town which witnessed lakhs of pilgrims every year.
