| Bhartiya Dalit Sahitya Academy honours Bhim | | | Early Times Report Jammu , Dec 8 Prof. Bhim Singh, Chairman, National Panthers Party and Member, National Integration Council was awarded with Babu Parmanand National Award by the Bhartiya Dalit Sahitya Academy, Delhi today, mostly Dalit intellectuals, academicians, social and political activists from all over the country including Nepal were p[resent. Chairman, Academy, Prof. Sohanpal Sumnakshar described Prof. Bhim Singh as eternal elite which has been shining light for millions of Dalits in the sub-continent. He said that Prof. Bhim Singh was adjudged as the best recipient of Babu Parmanand National Award in the country. Prof. Bhim Singh in his brief address said that Dalits had a great role to play in making present India. He said that right from Ramayana was written by a Dalit, Rishi Balmiki and great Indian Constitution was also authored by a Dalit intellectual, Baba Saheb Ambedkar. He hoped and trusted that future ‘Samul Kranti’ (Ultimate Revolution) to secure ultimate justice and equity for the depressed (Dalit) people of India and the rest of the world shall be brought by the depressed people of the world. He said Dalit is identified with all the suppressed and depressed people irrespective of their caste, religion, region or even a nationality. He praised Babu Parmannd for his untiring struggle for the upliftment of the depressed class. Sahitya Academy also presented Honorary Professorship to Sudesh Kumari, widow of late Babu Parmanand. Several academicians, ministers, intellectuals including former Governor Mata Prasad, social welfare minister of Nepal and others were awarded Baba Saheb Ambedkar National and International Awards on the occasion.
