| Army donates sewing machines to Chemrey women | | | Early Times Report Udhampur, Dec 9: With an aim of integrating the civilian population of Ladakh region with the national mainstream, various welfare activities have been undertaken by 3 Infantry Division under Operation Sadbhavana donated 15 sewing machines to empower the women of remote Chemrey village in Leh.
According to the army spokesperson Northern Command said that various welfare activities have influenced the life style of the local populace in the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir and made them more self-reliant and in this regard the 3 Inf Div donated 15 sewing machine to Women Self Help Group running at Chemrey village for their centre in order to provide self-employment opportunities.
Brig Ajay Kumar, SM, Deputy General Officer Commanding, 3 Infantry Division, in a function organised presented 15 knitting machines to local women of the Self Help Group. The village numberdar of Chemrey village Tashi Paldan and other villagers were present on the occasion.
DGO, 3 Infantry Division also visited the Self Help Center of Thang Gol group at Chemery, Adult Literacy Centre and Computer Centre at Sakti village and interacted with the teachers, students and numberdar of village Sakti.
