| Inter Army School Badminton Championship held | | |
JAMMU, OCTOBER 07-Inter Army School Level (under HQ 9 Corps) Badminton Championship was organized by Army School Jammu Cantt at MAM Stadium.
Principal Army School Mrs Anu Jandial welcomed the chief guest Brig M M Chaudhary, Dy GOC 26 Inf Div, at the impressive inaugural ceremony. Declaring the meet open Brig Chaudhary addressed the participating teams and stressed on the need to develop strong physique by way of regular games and sports in school years. He inspired students to ‘play well and play hard’ with the true spirit of a sportsmen. He wished all participants best of luck in the game and in future pursuits.
A group of seven Army Schools competed with each other to clinch the Badmintion Championship for the year 2006-07. The tournament was played on knock out basis.
In the final round of girls series, Army School Samba emerged as the winner, with a sizable lead over Army School Kaluchak, while in the boys series Army School Kaluchak maintained a lead over Army School Jammu Cantt and became the champion.
The close of the event was marked by handing over the trophies and prizes to the proud winners and runners-up. Certificates were also distributed to all participants by the Brig M M Chaudhary. |
