| 186 women cops pass out in SKPA | | | Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, DEC-09:- As many as 186 Women Constables took solemn pledge of serving the society in an attestation-cum-passing out parade held at Shere-I-Kashmir Police Academy (SKPA), Udhampur, here today.
The Director of Police, Kuldeep Khoda was the chief guest on the occasion who inspected the parade and took salute at the march past of contingents comprising of Lady Constables.
MLA Udhampur, Mr. Balwant Singh Mankotia, Addl. Director General (CID), Mr. K. Rajendra, IG Security, Mr. Ram Lubhyaya, Inspector General Armed Police, Mr. Dilbagh Singh, DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range, G.S. Slathia, DIG Armed, Mr. Danish Rana, SSP Udhampur, Mr. Surinder Gupta, District Officers, parents and prominent citizens were present on the occasion.
Complimenting the Lady Constables and their parents in particular for encouraging their daughters to join police force for the service of the society, the DGP hoped that the pledge they have taken today, would be adhered to in letter and spirit while discharging their duties in the field and provide justice to the suffering masses.
Lauding the role of officers and officials of SKPA Udhampur in providing excellent training to Lady Cops, Mr. Khoda was optimistic that after getting the training from this premier institution, they would display their professional skills with dedication and not log behind their male counter parts . He said that this out-going batch would be kept ready as a special fighting force to handle different types of situations in their respective fields to maintain law and order.
Responding to the various developmental demands of SKPA, Mr. Khoda said that the Chief Minister was keen to strengthen the SKPA adding that every effort would be made to upgrade this institution on modern lines so as to make it an exemplary training institute in State and country as well.
Director, SKPA, Mr. Navin Agarwal giving detailed account of the activities of the Academy said that during the training the women trainees were imparted, specialized training in arms, fire-fighting, shooting, computer knowledge besides acquainting involving them in out-door and indoor sports activities. They were also exposed to various extra-curricular activities sports meet, debate competitions, route march and cultural programmes. He hoped that after leaving this institution, they would excel well in their duties in the field.
On the occasion, Mr. Khoda also accorded out of turn one rank promotion to women constable, Miss Tabasum Jan who bagged top positions in both Indoor and Outdoor activities besides showing over all best performance during the training . The DGP also interacted with the women constables who passed out the training course and wished them all the success in their life.
