690 MW Ratle project to come up near Kishtwar

Srinagar, Jammu 9: Chief Secretary, Mr. S.S. Kapur today reviewed the process of initiating work on the proposed Ratle Power Station in Kishtwar district to be set up on River Chenab.

The meeting was informed that the process of selection of successful bidders would be completed by March 2010 even as pre bid formalities have already been completed.

The meeting was told that the land for the proposed 690 MW has already been identified and the State Power Development Corporation would acquire the 485 hectares for the purpose. The detailed project report for the project, the meeting was informed, has been prepared by the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation already.

The Chief Secretary advised the SPDC to complete the formalities in a time bound manner, taking all the components of project into consideration.

Present in the meeting were Principal Secretary, Power, Mr. B. R. Sharma, Commissioner Secretary, Planning, Mr. B. B. Vyas, Director General Budget, Mr. Ravi Magotra, Managing Director and other senior officers of J&K State Power Development Corporation.
