SAMBA, Dec 9: Kanchan Devi, a class 12th student bagged first prize in a debate contest, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Police in collaboration with Department of Education at District Police Lines, Samba.
Second and third positions went to Karan Singh and Ashok Sharma respectively of District Police Lines, Samba.
The participants from Government Higher Secondary School, Ramgarh and policemen from District Police Lines Samba expressed their views on the topic, “There Should be Equal Condemnation of Violation of Human Rights Committed by Security Forces and Terrorists.”
Held on the directions of Director General of Police, Kuldeep Khoda, the winners of this debate contest shall now participate at the zonal level, followed by the state level competition.
Additional SP Samba, Shiv Sharma, DySP DAR and Lecturer Ashwani Sharma were the adjudicators while Station House Officer, Ramgarh, Inspector Deepak Raina conducted the proceedings.
