| HC notice to Mufti in Farooq’s MAT plea | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 10: In a petition filed by Dr. Farooq Abdullah, presently Union Minister as Chairman Muslim Aquaf Trust and others, seeking restoration of petition which was dismissed in default of non-appearance of the counsel for the petitioners on July 29, 2009 on various grounds, Division Bench of J&K High Court Jammu Wing comprising Chief Justice Barin Ghosh and Justice Mohammed Yaqoob Mir, has issued notice to the state of J&K through Chief Secretary, Commissioner/Secretary GAD, Mufti Mohammed Syed in capacity Chairman Board of Directors under Jammu and Kashmir Wakfs and Wakfs properties, Nayeem Akhter then CEO of the Board and Muzaffar Hussain Beigh, to file objection within seven days from the date of issue of notice.
Advocate General MI Qadiri, appearing for the Chief Secretary and Commissioner/ Secretary GAD, received the notice on behalf of these respondents and pleaded that the case be listed immediately after the service is complete.. JNF
