| Janipur road named after Justice MC Mahajan | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 11- JMC Mayor Kavinder Gupta, accompanied by BJP Legislative Party leaders & MLA Jammu West Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta inaugurated the macadamized road from main road Janipur to High Court at a function held at Janipur chowk. The ceremony also included naming of the road as Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan road. The JMC has also laid flood light on the crossing of the said road.
Speaking on the occasion Prof. Gupta said that naming the road as Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan road is the first official recognition of the greatness and the immanence of late Justice. He was Chief Justice of the state in 1947 and was also Prime Minister of the state for some time at the crucial juncture. He rose to the highest post of Judiciary and was first Indian Chief Justice of India after independence.
Mayor assured the public that JMC would take care of the problems faced by the public in respect of civic matters. He said that JMC under his stewardship would continue to make all out efforts to complete maximum works for the public convenience and also make endeavour to keep Jammu clean. He invited the public to come his office, in case they are facing any problem in respect of the facilities provided by the JMC and he will readily find remedy at the earliest.
Rajinder Motial, Kailash Langer, Bal Krishan Gupta, Ravinder Gupta, Lalit Moza, Sureshta Jamwal, Dinesh Gupta, Sat Pal Grover, Yash Pal Manto, Charanjit Singh, Raj Kumar, Parduman Singh, Subash Chander, Shiv Rattan and JMC Executive Engineer Sunil Kohli and R.K. Tuttu were prominent among those who were present on the occasion.
