| JMC seizes 100 kgs poly packs, removes unauthorise hoardings | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 11: On the direction of Dy. Chief Minister Tara Chand enforcement and health wing of Jammu municipal corporation led by Joint Commissioner (A), accompanied by health officer, chief revenue officer visited vegetable markets at Narwal, Sabzi Mandi Parade, Raj Tilak Road and Mohalla Paharian and seized about 100 kgs of Polythene carry bags. Defaulters were challaned and an amount of Rs 1200/- was realized as fine on the spot, beside removed unauthorized hoardings at different places. While continuing drive against adulteration in food items, intensive checking was undertaken by the checking team in the areas of Shakti Nagar, Bakshi Nagar and Talab Tillo. During the checking about 45 establishments of confectionary shops halwai shops, fruit juice, fish corners, dhabas etc were checked and eight of defaulters were booked under the provisions of PFA act 1954 and J&K municipal corporation act 2000. An amount of Rs 1750/- was realized as fine on spot from the defaulters. Besides , veterinary officer along with the tam visited the areas of New Plot, Janipur, Panjthirthi, Pacca Danga and Talab Tillo and checked 60 no’s of milk canes in these areas, out of which 11 no’s of milk canes were lifted and sent to the laboratory. A fine of Rs. 2090.00 was also realized from the erring milk vendors on spot. The stray animals were impounded to municipal cattle pound and a fine of Rs 750.00 was realized from the owners of animals.
