| Chib visits Thalora | | Pays floral tributes at Vijay Kumar’s memorial | | Early Times Report JAMMU, DECEMBER 12- Minister for Medical Education, Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Mr. R.S. Chib visited Thalora village in Udhampur district and paid rich tributes to Lance Naik Vijay Kumar Padha who laid his life while performing his duty. Laying floral wreath over the samadhi of shaheed Vijay Kumar and praying for his eternal peace, Mr. Chib said that the soldier was a brave, patriot and an obedient son of his motherland who gave his life for the cause of his nation. Remembering young soldier, the Minister said that shaheed Vijay Kumar was a man of virtues which will be reminded always by the countrymen. Appreciating the role of security forces defending their motherland, the Minister said that it is because of their efforts that militancy in the state has been contained. Mr. Chib met father of Vijay Kumar Mr. Rattan Chand Sharma and mother Mrs. Vaishnov Devi and friends and shared the grief. Accompanied by former Minister, Mr. Yashpaul Khajuria, General Secretary, JKPCC, Amalak Singh, Secretary, Mr. Ashwani Puri, District President, Mr. B.S. Pathania and several local leaders, Mr. Chib attended a condolence meeting on the occasion and listened to various demands projected on the occasion. Responding to their demands, Mr. Chib said that shortage of drinking water in Thalora village shall be examined and possibility will be explored to lift water from Gambhir nallah. Regarding relief to family of deceased, Mr. Chib assured that ex-gratia relief and employment to one of his kin under SRO 43 shall be examined. With regard to construction of road leading to Vijay Kumar’s village, Mr. Chib said the construction of road shall be taken up with the concerned department shortly. Necessary instructions to Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur in this regard were passed on-the-spot. Earlier, Mr. Chib visited ITI, Samba and also inspected site for construction of Polytechnic College at Nud Samba.
