| Akhoon visits CA&PD, FCI godowns | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, DECEMBER 12 – Minister for Consumer Affairs & Public Distribution (CA&PD) and Transport, Mr. Qamar Ali Akhoon today made an extensive tour of Jammu city and around and took stock of food grains available in the CAPD and Food Corporation of India (FCI) godowns.
The Minister inspected CAPD Stores at Ware House, Chatha and FCI godowns at Railway Station besides, JK Flour Mill at Kotli Mian Fateh in R.S. Pura.
While inspecting CAPD store Ware House, he advised the authorities of Jammu Development Authority for improvement and macdamization of CAPD ground within shortest period and maintain a hygienic atmosphere there.
At FCI godown Railway Station, the Minister was informed that buffer stock of food grains are available in the godowns for supply purposes to CAPD department. He was told that at present 32,000 metric tons of stock is available in the godowns.
At Kotli Mian Feteh, the Minister inspected the process of grinding of wheat in JK Flour Mill. He asked the authorities of FCI and CAPD to provide quality ration to the consumers of the State and warned that no compromise on quality would be tolerated.
Mr. Akhoon during his tour took stock of the ongoing work on two storyed Regional Transport Office at Narwal, Jammu building which is under construction at a cost of Rs. 1.24 crore. He was informed that so far Rs. 1.02 crore has been released for its construction.
He instructed the executing agency for completing the building by March next year so that Regional Transport Office be shifted there. He also inspected the Regional Transport Office at Nehru Market and went round all the sections of the office. He stressed upon the employees to work with sincerity and honesty and come up to the expectations of the people. He directed the RTO to speed up disposal of cases and discourage agentism. Mr. Akhoon was accompanied by Commissioner/Secretary, CAPD and Transport, Dr. Asgar Samoon, Director CAPD, Jammu, Mr. Hemant Kumar Sharma, Joint Transport Commissioner, Mr. Fayaz Ahmad, Regional Transport Officer, Jammu, Mr. Manhas.
