| Coaching programme launched for Special Olympics | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, DEC 13: Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Mr. R. S. Chib inaugurated a five day Advance Coaches Training Programme of Special Olympics, organized by Special Olympics Bharat, (SOB) J&K Chapter at Youth Hostel Nagrota today. President, SOB, Dr Ashvini Jojra while apprising the Minister about the programme, said that a glorious beginning has dawned in the State with the launch of Special Olympics Movement. He said that technical guidance has been sought from National Trainer Mr. M.M. Khumran and Mr. Deepak Walia for making the programme a success.. He said coaches from 13 States of North India are participating in the programme. Addressing the coaches, Mr. Chib termed the Special Olympics Movement as turning point for the athletes of the State. He said that the athletes have hidden potential which needs to be explored and channelized by exposing them to these games so that they can bring laurels for the State. He hoped that the training programme will culminate with the marvelous results with practical approach by the organizers in the field of football, athletics, Badminton and other sports activities. Dr. Ashvini said that with in a short span of time after launching of SOB,the J&K has gained a prominent place among the other states and the day is not far away when our State will lead other States. Those who also graced the occasion and dispatched their blessings were Mr.. S.P.Verma Advisor-in-Chief SOB- JK, Mr. Rajinder Gupta Vice Chairman SOB-JK, Mr. S.A Laharwal Director General Sports, Mrs. Shakuntla Joshi, Mr. Deepak Agarwal, Mr. Sushil Mahajan and Ab. Majid Bicho.
