| Gupta urges CM pay attention towards people’s problems | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, DEC 13: BJP Legislator Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has impressed upon the Chief Minister and all other concerned to pay their due attention to sort out the problems facing the people, especially lakhs of pilgrims visiting Katra, the base camp to the holy shrine of Vaishno Devi. After visting Katra to take stock on the problems facing the local people as also the pilgrims, Prof. Gupta regretted that little has been done for development of this most important town where nearly a crore of people, most the pilgrims from all over the country as also abroad visit there. The most sad part of the situation was that not even drinking water was available and even litre of water costs much to the visitors as also the local population is faced with great scarcity of drinking water. He said there are numerous other problems too which include that of sanitation congestion health care and others. But instead of finding out solution to these problems, an ucalled for row has been created there in Katra just to benefit certain vested interest, he added and alleged that most tragic part of the situion was that certain government men too have become party over the row location of a Bus Stand there. Prof. Gupta impressed upon the Chief Minister and other to see that this issue is settled amicably and measure are taken on the ground to find out solution to the basic problems like that of drinking water, sanitation etc. He strongly pleaded for boosting pilgrimage tourism of this state especially those of Jammu which is dotted with numerous religious places attacking lakhs of devotees.
