| NSUI demands proper drinking water facilities in schools | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, Dec 13- NSUI has demanded clean drinking water facilities and deployment of adequate staff and well equipped laboratories in schools across Udhampur district.
Addressing a press conference at District Congress Office here today, State General Secretary NSUI, Arjun Singh Pathania said that schools in the district do not provide clean and safe drinking water to their students besides making provision for water purifiers. He said newly upgraded higher secondary schools are not provided science laboratories and even the schools upgraded five years ago are yet to be provided these laboratories. He questioned the utility of teaching science subjects in the Government schools that had not science laboratories. He said although the computer labs were constructed in higher secondary schools in the past but regretted that these labs are non functional due to lack of staff.
Sachin Sharma, district vice-president Asif Ali Bhat and block president Majalta Ved Sharma were also present on the occasion.
