| | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 13- To fight for the cause of terrorist affected people of Jammu region a new outfit named as ‘Terrorist Affected People’s Forum’ has been constituted today. The Forum headed by Brig(Retd) Karan Singh Kotwal as its Chairman will fight for the rights of the terrorist affected people, who have been neglected all along by both the state and the central government’s in the past 20 years. The decision to this effect was taken at a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Karan Singh Kotwal in which more than 300 delegates from all sections of the society from Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Udhampur, Reasi, Kathua, Rajouri and Poonch districts participated. The day long meeting held detailed discussions and evolved modulation for taking up the issue of the people of these areas at all available forums, who have been hit hard due to militancy in the past two decades. The meeting regretted that neither the centre nor the state government’s have taken any steps for providing the affected people any succor. The meeting also elected five convenors for the Forum. They included Farooq Mir, ex-MLA Banihal and Rajiv Charak for erstwhile Doda district. Dr Mumtaz Hussain Shah Bukhari (Retd) Deputy Director Health and Koushal Gupta for Rajouri and Poonch districts respectively while Shiv Kumar Sharma has been appointed as convenor for Udhampur and Reasi districts. Ramesh Gupta (Retd) Deputy Director Local Bodies has been elected as spokesperson.
