Early Times Report Srinagar, Dec 14 : Two smugglers, including a woman, from Punjab were arrested along with fuki at Pantha Chowk on Srinagar-Jammu national highway, official sources said here today. They said, police on a tip off arrested Jasminder Kaur, wife of Rakesh Kumar resident of Nehar colony, Hoshisarpur and Harbinder Singh, resident of Boham Hoshiapur, Punjab at Pantha chowk. About 23 kg of fuki was also recovered from their possession. Yesterday, three smugglers were arrested along with 363 kg of poppy straw in the south Kashmir. Police, Excise and Crime Branch officials have destroyed banned crops, cultivated over thousands of kanals of land in south Kashmir districts of Anantnag, Pulwama and Shopian during this summer. Police also arrested more than two dozen smugglers, including half a dozen from Punjab, along with banned crops and charas this summer.
