Jammu, Dec 14- Welcoming setting up of police post in Jammu University, NSUI has said that students would now feel safe and secure.
Elaborating the need of police post, NSUI said that there were three shoot-out incidents and ten odd vehicle-lifting cases in the recent past. In addition to this, there were innumerable violent clashes between the students and outsiders. Hostels are also prone to attacks by outsiders and university of Jammu is on hit list of terrorists and anti-social elements. This step will make the intelligentsia feel secured, NSUI said in a statement today.
Expressing surprise over the statement of some vested interests that there was no police post in Kashmir University, NSUI said that in fact there were four police posts and one CRPF platoon in Kashmir University campus against one police post in Jammu University.
