Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 14- To further intensify its struggle against the alleged callous attitude of Government towards the genuine issues of Plus-Two Cadre Lecturers, All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum has decided to observe ‘Class Boycott’ on December 23 across the State.
The decision of the Forum was announced by H D Qureshi, state president while addressing a press conference here today.
Qureshi apprised that the deliberate delaying tactics of the Government towards the most genuine issues of the cadre that include regularization of 4000 Incharge Lecturers and 500 Principals awaiting since 1998 onwards, delay in the change of Pay Band in accordance with the recommendations of S.L Bhatt Committee report and debarring of Cadre from the benefit of running pattern, has forced the community to take the extreme step of ‘Class Boycott’ and ‘Dharnas’ all around the State.
While elaborating the details of the confronting issues, he informed that the regularization of Incharge Lecturers which is chronic disease in the Cadre has not been addressed seriously by the Government despite announcements by the Education Minister Peerzada Mohammed Sayeed .He expressed his surprise that even after the announcement of the Minister there are some forces who are creating huddles in the regularization of 4000 Lecturers in 30 disciplines.
On the issue of change in Pay band Qureshi expressed his surprise that the Government has violated all the ethics while announcing the decision of incentives in favour of a section of Doctors in a very shameful and partial manner. The decision of the Government in favour of a particular section of Doctors cannot stop the aggrieved sections of employees in general and Plus 2 cadre in particular in their fight for change in Pay Band in accordance with the recommendations of S.L Bhatt Committee constituted in the State for the purpose, he pointed out.
He announced that in such circumstances and non- serious approach of the Government, the Cadre has decided to observe ‘Class Boycott’ all across the State on December 23, 2009 and organize ‘Dharnas’ at Tehsil and District Head Quarters.
Others who spoke on this occasion included D P Dutta and Manmeet Bali, both Vice Presidents, S.Gurcharan Singh, General Secretary, Charan Dass, Chief Organiser, N.S.Jamwal, Tarsem Singh both District Presidents and Didar Singh, State Co-ordinator.
