Jammu, Dec 14: A seminar on ‘human right’s day’, at village Barnai was organized by the J&K state women commission in collaboration with Rathore Education and Research Foundation today.
Addressing the gathering secretary state women commission Ms Hafiza Muzaffar urged upon the women’s present on the occasion come forward and eradicate social evils like dowry and atrocities committed on women. She also made them about the rights granted under constitution for women. She also urged upon the men folk not to drink nor smoke, which are health hazardous.
Resource person Prof. Rita Jitender on the occasion threw light on the services being provided by the women commission especially in rural areas for the upliftment of women. She urged upon the women folk take active part in coming panchayat elections, which will give them opportunity to elect their women representative. Prof. Indra Rathore chairperson of NGO on the occasion said, such type of awareness programme in future will be held, so that a regular interaction programme between rural and urban women take place.
