| Three shops gutted in Udhampur | | |

Udhampur Dec15- Medicines and grocery items worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed in a fire which broke out in three shops near Sallian Talab Udhampur last night.
A medical store, cosmetic store and general store, sharing a common partition, totally gutted in fire which broke out late last night. The fire which broke out in the drug store spread to the other store and within minutes, the entire area was engulfed in thick smoke. There was panic as people ran for their lives.
Rajesh, owner of the Medical store, said that there was a huge blaze in the shops. The shop owners claimed loss of nearly Rs.90 lakhs as all the shops were dealing with agencies as whole sellers.
Though the exact cause of fire is not known yet it is believed that short circuit in an air conditioner in the drug shop might have caused the fire.
