| HC directions to PSC | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 15- Coming to the rescue of the petitioners, Justice Mohammed Yaqoob Mir of J&K High Court today directed Public Service Commission to permit and conduct the interview of the petitioners which shall be solely at their own risk and responsibility. This significant order was passed in a writ petition filed by Monica Reshi and Ors. After hearing counsels for the petitioners, Justice Mir issued notice to the respondents’ returnable within three weeks. The Court observed that in view of the stated position, at this stage, strong case is made out on the basis of celebrated principles governing grant or otherwise of the interim relief, therefore, respondent PSC shall permit and conduct the interview of the petitioners which shall be solely at their own risk and responsibility. Result shall not be declared until further orders from this Court. It shall be open for respondents to file objections by or before the date as shall be fixed, the Court ordered. The petitioners in their petition submitted that in pursuance to the notification issued by PSC on May 26, 2006, for various posts including Horticulture Development Officers and Assistant Analyst, the petitioners filed their applications which were duly entertained. The list of candidates called for interview was published but their names did not figure in the list. The corrigendum was issued on December 2, 2009 mentioning therein that candidates were short listed on the basis of qualification and only those candidates who possessed M.SC Horticulture/ M.SC Agriculture have been called for interview, and if any candidate is not figuring in the list despite possessing the requisite qualification, he shall immediately contact the PSC office. Petitioners responding to the said corrigendum filed detailed representations.
