| GCET team bags Veerana Aivali trophy | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 15: A team from the Government College of Engineering and Technology lifted Veeranna Aivalli Memorial running trophy in the 8th Veeranna Aivalli Memorial intercollegiate/ departmental debating competition organized jointly by the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), J&K Branch and department of students welfare, university of Jammu, held here today. Navjot Singh from of engineering and technology, bagged the first prize while Pryati Sharma from government women college, Gandhi Nagar and Bharti Mathur from Guru Gang Dev Ji of College of Education were adjudged second and third, respectively. Two consolation prizes were awarded to Aashima Puri of Government College of Engineering and technology and Shreya Sharma from Government Women College, Parade. The topic of the debate was “Constituency Development Funds has failed to achieve the desired results”. Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Varun Sahni, was the chief guest, while Dr. SS Bloeria, chairman, IIPA, presided over the valedictory function. Kuldeep Khuda, the director general of Police J&K, was the chief guest of honour and Girish Aivalli was the special guest. Hony.
