| Bhalla launches road in constituency | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, DEC 16: While assuring that link roads connecting various areas in a time bound manner will get top priority of the Government, the Revenue Minister Raman Bhalla said that enhanced and upgraded road connectivity is key to development of far-off areas, The Minister was laying foundation of 6.5 kilometer long water supply distribution network pipes at Ashok Nagar in Shastri Nagar at a cost of Rs. 1.6 crore by ERA today. Chairman Health and Sanitation Mr. Satesh Sharma and others of various departments accompanied the Minister. Bhalla said advanced communication level particularly in far-flung and inaccessible areas would also enhance the socio-economic status of the inhabitants. He said with the completion of water supply distribution network pipes work, the drinking water facilities in Ashok Nagar, Shastri Nagar and Nai Basti would be improved. He asked the executing agency to complete the work within 45 days for the benefit of the people. The Minister asked the officers to speed-up the pace of work and ensure judicious use of funds. He said that the Government is accountable to the public and is committed to provide transparent administration to them. He said that Government resolved to create durable assets in the State. At Raipur-Satwari, the Minister inaugurated 800 meter long lane and drain, completed at a cost of Rs. 5.5 lakh by R&B. At Vishwakarma Chowk and Satyam Road, East Extension-1, Trikuta Nagar, Mr. Bhalla laid foundation of two lanes and drains coming up at a cost of Rs. 26 lakh.
