| Cabinet panel discusses ethics in governance | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec 16: The Cabinet Sub-Committee constituted to look into recommendations made by Second Administrative Reforms Commission today met under the chairmanship of the Minister for Rural Development, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Mr. Ali Mohammad Sagar and discussed in detail the necessary amendments to be made in J&K Accountability Commission Act and also the revised bills to be adopted. The Second Administrative Reforms Commission, in its fourth report, ‘Ethics in Governance’ had made certain recommendations with a view to eliminate corruption in public life/ services as a result of which a Cabinet Sub-Committee had been constituted for establishing State Vigilance Commission, consequential amendments in Jammu and Kashmir Prevention of Corruption Act, samvat 2006 and also amending the Jammu and Kashmir Accountability Act 2002. The Minister for Agriculture, Mr. Ghulam Hassan Mir, Minister for Tourism, Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora, Minister for Higher Education, Mr. Abdul Gani Malik who are the members of the Sub-Committee attended. The Secretary, Law, Mr. G. H. Tantry and Additional Secretary, Law, Mr. Mohammad Ashraf also attended the meeting.
