| PDP passes infamous self rule draft resolution | | | Srinagar, Oct 07 : As the Peoples Democratic Party chief patron Mufti Muhammad Sayeed headed for attending UN session, the party leaders back in the state have intensified its drive to built up public opinion on the Self rule proposal of the party. As per a party spokesman, a resolution supporting broader contours of the self-rule position paper being formulated by the Draft Committee of the party was passed at a day-long district level PDP convention organized at Anantnag today. The convention presided over by the Party General Secretary, Nizam-ud-Din Bhat and attended by senior PDP leaders and Ministers Abdul Aziz Zargar, Peer Mohammad Hussain, District President and MLA Sartaj Madni, political secretary to Party President, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain was attended by almost all the zonal presidents of the district. Expressing satisfaction over the performance of PDP’s Drafting Committee, that met recently and has reached consensus on the broader contours of the party’s self-rule formula for the final settlement of Kashmir problem, the speakers generally endorsed the proposal of self-rule adding that it would encompass three vital elements including political satisfaction, economic empowerment and accommodating the regional aspirations to workout an implementable long-lasting solution of Kashmir problem with sufficient guarantees. Thorough discussion was also held over the overall development and political scenario of the district. The Zonal presidents projected the public problems of various areas in the district urging upon the coalition government and administration to initiate measures for un-interrupted power and water supply in the district as also availability of essential commodities including sugar and k.oil in the rural areas during the current ‘Ramadhan’ |
